New spots

All day today we emptied out the garage, mopped it, and put stuff back in a better arrangement. I expected it to take a couple hours, but it took more like 7. It was bad in there.
I had Mike put the middle of the sofa that we don't use near the dogs' food. Smush jumped right up. Of course Blitzen has to go too so this is where they ended up in the garage

Bored

Poor dogs. All the do is lay around all day now that I actually have to work regular hours :(
I'll never understand why dogs with a huge yard to run around in would just slug around on a couch all day. By the way, this couch is the one we used to put poky things on so the dogs wouldn't lay on it. Life is too short--- just lay wherever you want!

Big Bone

It has been hilarious watching Blitzen slink around Kobe trying to take the gigantic bone and chomp away. A couple of times Kobe suddenly got a burst of energy and would take off smelling the ground looking for the big bone.
Sierra saw Kobe take the bone away from Blitzen. Later, when Kobe wasn't looking, Blitzen took the bone back and now here is the result:

Life is great for Blitzen.

Big babies

You have to look closely again. Blitzen is on the right and looks pure black. Sierra in the middle laying on her tummy and Smush on the left with her chin on Sierra's back. I'm trying to work and these 3 are right next to me cuddling up together.

Post neuter

Blitzen got neutered 46 hours ago. First day he looked sad. He wouldn't eat or drink so he must have felt nauseous. When he woke up, he looked about 75% and this morning he was back to normal.

Mike thinks he may have been abused because I threw 3 rolls of TP downstairs for the bathroom and after Mike came home late last night, Blitzen had a roll of TP in his mouth. I guess Mike took it from him and lightly bopped his snout in a playful way trying to play and puppy cowered. He feels bad because he thinks he was abused. Hopefully soon he will know that he won't EVER be abused again. In fact, quite the opposite. He'll be spoiled beyond his dreams!

Family Room

We really could just live in a 1,000 sq ft house. Everyone stays in one room. Then when everyone is in here, that means dogs are too.

Four of my favorite things

This is what I wake up to most days.

Heart

Sierra took this picture to show me and anyone who reads this the hole Blitzen dug in the backyard. It's in the shape of a heart. Here are some other views of the same hole:

Lavin loves Blitzen

She'd never admit it, but she does.

Tonight after a 70 minute walk with the shepherds, I made a big salad. All 3 dogs followed me upstairs hoping to get a bite. Once Blitzen knew he wasn't going to get any of the salad he took off toward my closet.
A few minutes later he came walking past me with one of my shoes in his mouth.
I don't know where my shoe is and I know this is the second shoe he has swiped. Sadly, it was a different pair of shoes. So I can only hope he took a different side so I can make a pair out of the 2 shoes that are left. Puppies.

Backyard buddies

Blitzen and Smush are having so much fun together in the backyard. All we have to do is open the back door and they come running. They run in circles after each other.

Our back yard is really big for So Cal. It goes back over 200 feet and is pretty wide as well. They love it! They especially love it when we are there watching them play.

My new baby

Blitzen is a big cuddler. When I'm sitting watching TV, he puts his head on me and lays under my arm. Poor guy has no idea he is about to get neutered :(

New Spot

I panicked tonight when I was making spaghetti. Kobe and Blitzen were in the kitchen staring at me. I slipped them each 2 meatballs. I looked for Smushy, who knows intuitively that someone else is getting fed. She didn't come. I called for her. Nothing. Sierra went outside and Mike went outside. No Smush. Wow. What a horrible feeling. It felt like I lost her. Finally Mike went upstairs to check and she was asleep in our room. I still had a hard time believing she wouldn't come for meatballs. She found this new spot at the foot of the bed on top of the decoration pillows. Her upper body is propped on the pillows, her back is against the bed like she likes, and her bottom is on the floor. So cute.
Here she is:

My new buddy

Look closely, I know it's dark.

The couch in my little room is like 2 sides of a square (making a right angle). I can lay on one side with my feet pointing toward the TV and the top next to my head is an empty section.

Blitzen always comes up and lays next to my head. That's what the picture shows only it's dark in here. The white under his head is my pillow.

Just now as I was writing this, Smush came in. Blitzen jumped down, Smush jumped up, and Blitzen laid next to the couch parallel to my legs.

Anna meets Blitzen

This afternoon I took the shepherds walking at the sports park. We saw Abby's family along with their friends. They were playing football. Anna came over to see Blitzen in person. She said she was surprised at how big he is. He behaved very well when she was petting him. Maybe I'll finally have a dog I don't have to stress over around other people!
